Our Beef
We run about 50 head of Red Angus & Gelbvieh cross cattle. We find that these genetics produce easy going cattle that are great mothers as well as carry excellent marbling genetics to their offspring. Our cows are on pasture rotation and supplemented with silage or hay during the winter months to make sure that they stay happy and healthy. You could say we know our cattle from pasture to plate and take pride in the beef we produce.
When ordering beef you have options. You not only can choose how much but also what cuts you prefer and how it is packaged. Beef can be reserved as a whole, or in halves. A whole beef is on average 850 lbs where a half is around 425 lbs. For reference a whole beef can typically feed a family of 4 for a year, but it is the more pricey option. If you aren’t ready to make that big of a financial commitment or don’t have the freezer space a half may be a better option for you. Beef should be reserved by September for processing the following spring (April-May).
How Our Beef Ordering Process Works
We take pride in providing high-quality, locally raised beef for our customers. Our goal is to make the process simple while ensuring you get the best beef, finished to your preferences. Here’s how it works:
1. Reserve Your Beef
To secure your beef, you’ll start by placing a deposit. This deposit reserves your half or whole beef for the current year. Since availability is limited, we require all new customers to have a conversation with us before placing a deposit to ensure you understand the process.
2. We Raise Your Beef
Once your deposit is placed, we’ll raise your beef with care until it reaches the ideal finishing weight. When the time comes, we’ll transport it to the locker (butcher) for processing.
3. Processing & Payment
You’ll purchase the beef directly from us, with the remaining balance due after processing.
The processing fees are not included in our price. The locker will charge you separately based on your custom processing choices, such as cuts, packaging, and any extras like patties or specialty products.
You’ll work directly with the locker to choose how your beef is cut and packaged.
4. Pick Up & Enjoy!
Once the locker has processed and packaged your beef, it will be ready for pickup. You’ll pay them for their processing services at that time. Then, you can take home your locally raised, farm-fresh beef to enjoy for months to come!

We select beef prospects in the late summer and early fall for custom orders. These cattle are finished through the winter and spring to ensure optimal quality. Around late April or May, they are sent to the locker for processing. If you’d like to reserve a beef, please contact us by September 1st to guarantee your beef is reserved for the following year’s processing.
